Best move in years: Celtic absolutely must move for £6.75m-rated man who idolises Harry Kane

Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern are eager to see who Brendan Rodgers will bring to the club in the summer in order to build on the successes of last season.

The Hoops were unstoppable last season as they secured their seventh Scottish Premiership title in a row, finishing nine points ahead of Aberdeen in second. Rodgers also lifted the Scottish Cup and League Cup to complete a historic domestic treble at Celtic Park. However, they struggled in Europe, being knocked out of both the Champions League and Europa League.

Attention has now turned to the summer transfer window as Rodgers looks to bolster his squad. Our regulars are hoping for a big summer with Rangers expected to strengthen heavily after appointing Steven Gerrard. Recently, the Hoops have been rumoured with a move for Hamburg wonderkid – Jann-Fiete Arp.

Signing Arp would be Celtic’s best move in years. The German forward is considered as one of the top prospects in the Bundesliga and is valued at £6.75m according to Transfermarkt. The 18-year-old made 18 appearances in the league, scoring two goals, as the club were relegated in a disappointing campaign. Nevertheless, Arp’s record at youth level is phenomenal, netting 37 goals in 45 games for the Under 17 side. He has also featured 19 times at youth level for Germany, scoring 18 goals.

His performances have not gone unnoticed with Chelsea interested in the youngster back in 2017. However, he rejected a move to Stamford Bridge that “made no sense”. Indeed, he also revealed he idolises Harry Kane, basing his style off of the England international. If he’s half as good as Kane, Rodgers really is on to a winner.

Securing his services either permanently or on-loan would be a massive coup for the Hoops.

Celtic fans, thoughts?
