Birmingham City will be desperate to keep their unbeaten streak going as they’ve secured seven points in their last three Championship matches, which has kept their play-off hopes alive.
The Blues would make a big statement by securing a play-off spot in the current campaign, as they aren’t blessed with a star-studded squad like other sides in the Championship.
Interestingly, it appears as if Garry Monk is already looking at securing pre-contract agreements, as according to the Scottish Sun, Birmingham City are interested in Steven Naismith.
Monk has no signing budget and is on the look-out for free transfers, with Naismith in his sights.
Indeed, the on loan Scotsman’s current deal with Norwich runs out in May, so he is free to speak with interested parties, despite loan club Hearts wanting to keep him at Tynecastle.
But, the forward isn’t the only player on Monk’s radar as Naismith’s team-mate Arnaud Djoum is also in his sights.
Steven Naismith has plenty of experience in the Championship and he’s established himself as one of the standout performers in the Scottish Premiership this season, so it’s a no-brainer.
The Scotland international has an impressive 13 goals to his name in all competitions at Hearts, with nine of them coming in the league.
