Rangers fans here in The Transfer Tavern have been loving the pro-active approach their club are taking to their summer recruitment, celebrating the number of and quality of stars arriving at Ibrox in the close season.
Pedro Caixinha has made four signings already, wasting no time in securing the talent he believes can help close the gap on Celtic in the Scottish Premiership next season.
There’s also the small matter of UEFA Europa League qualifiers and it certainly seems a wise decision to sign early and get players bedded into the team before tackling that gauntlet.
He’s not finished with four though and according to reports in The Scottish Sun, is on the verge of making his fifth signing of the summer.
Daniel Candeias is said to be arriving in Glasgow this weekend for a medical ahead of finalising a £750,000 move from Portuguese giants Benfica.
A winger, Candeias has spent the season on loan in the Turkish Super Lig with Alanyaspor, scoring four goals and assisting four more in 29 appearances for the club. Now he’s set to apply those attacking talents in Glasgow.
The Light Blues have badly needed more creativity in the final third this season and adding options on the right flank of their attack is sure to go down well with supporters.
What do you think Rangers fans? Is Candeias the kind of signing that excites you or were you hoping Caixinha had signed another winger?
