Celtic are preparing themselves to make a bid for Exeter City midfielder Joel Randall this month, according to reports.
Randall to Parkhead?
Football Insider revealed that the Bhoys are looking to submit a seven-figure bid for the 21-year-old after tracking him throughout the current campaign in League Two.
The report claimed that Neil Lennon’s side could bid in excess of £1m for the left-sided midfielder as the Hoops look to invest in the squad over the long term.
During the current campaign, Randall has scored six goals and provided four assists in 18 starts for the Grecians (Whoscored), which is three more setups than Mohamed Elyounoussi has managed this term.
His manager Matt Taylor described him as a “standout player” this season, someone that has a very attacking mindset, get to the by-line and put crosses into the box.
Transfer Tavern Verdict
This would be a clever signing for Celtic to make. Not only are they getting themselves a creative asset but Randall is someone that could follow in the footsteps of James Forrest at Parkhead.
While it may not be the thrilling signing that the supporters are hoping for, with efficient player development, Randall could become a star for Lennon.
That being said, time will tell how he progresses in the team, and whether he will get the opportunity to play in green and white.
