Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern will still be celebrating their success of completing a back-to-back domestic Treble, but will still expect Brendan Rodgers to be busy in the transfer window.
The Bhoys have been dominating Scottish football for almost the past decade, however, with Steven Gerrard arriving at Old Firm rivals Rangers, the locals will be calling for the Hoops to remain on top and make a number of additions.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, the club are close to confirming a permanent switch for Odsonne Edouard from Paris Saint-Germain. It is believed the 20-year-old could join from the Parisians for a fee of £5million and officials are growing increasingly confident of a deal being confirmed for their first transfer of the summer.
The capture of Edouard would be welcomed by the locals in the bar with open arms after the season he has just had with them. The punters would be delighted if they can sign the youngster for a fee of £5M as well, as many would feel it would be a bargain signing.
The move to sign the young Frenchman could also be a good move by the Celtic Park outfit, as they expect to lose Moussa Dembele this summer, with a number of Europe’s top clubs having shown an interest in him in the past.
