Premiership giants Celtic are reportedly keeping tabs on Sheffield Wednesday star Adam Reach and they could look to make a move for the winger in the near future.
Reach’s current deal at Sheffield Wednesday expires at the end of the current campaign, but it seems as if both of the Old Firm clubs are looking at the 27-year-old winger.
Should Celtic make a move for Adam Reach?
Celtic monitoring Reach
This month, Reach is free to talk to clubs over a potential free transfer in the summer transfer window. Celtic may look to make a move for the former Middlesbrough man and they are reported to be monitoring the player’s situation.
The 27-year-old has made 22 appearances in the Championship this season and has scored two goals, picking up just as many assists. He recently scored for Wednesday in their FA Cup win over Exeter City (as per Transfermarkt).
In his Wednesday career, Reach has played 207 games while scoring 21 goals and picking up 33 assists for the Owls.
Former Wednesday boss Tony Pulis was full of praise or Reach earlier this season and said: “He has been a top player for me since I came to the football club. I have been really pleased with his attitude and commitment to the team and he has got a wand of a left foot..”
Reach would be a good move for Celtic
Reach is versatile down the left. He can play at left-back, but can also ply his trade in left midfield or on the left wing.
Diego Laxalt is currently on loan from Milan and it is yet to be ascertained whether he will move permanently to Parkhead or not. So if the Uruguayan doesn’t move to Celtic at the end of the campaign, the Hoops might need another option for the left side of the pitch.
Reach could be that sort of player and because of that, signing him would be a good move for Celtic – especially since he could be available for free.
