Celtic: Fans celebrate as rivals drop points to leave Hoops top of the league

With Celtic’s Glasgow rivals dropping points against Hearts, there was cause for celebration amongst fans as they remained top of the league, with Steven Gerrard’s side having a short spell on top during the international break.

Celtic had thumped Ross County 6-0 the day before, with their forwards enjoying a polar opposite performance to the abject one that the Gers front-line served up.

Much was made of Rangers leap-frogging the Bhoys into top spot following the defeat to Livingston and draw against Hibernian, but a break from scrutiny was to be short-lived with Gerrard now coming under pressure from the Scottish media.

Celtic fans took to Twitter to revel in the result and hijacked the official Rangers Twitter feed on the announcement of full-time.
