Celtic fans on Twitter fired up for AEK Athens clash

Celtic will be taking to the pitch tonight to face AEK Athens in their Champions League third-round qualifier and after drawing 1-1 at Parkhead, getting a win tonight will be absolutely crucial. If the Hoops don’t beat their Greek opponents they’ll be faced with a Europa League qualifier, however, the money in the Champions League is too good to miss out on.

The Olympic Stadium in Athens is a ground worthy of hosting such a huge game. Both clubs will be desperate to edge past one another to set themselves up a final qualifying match before the Champions League group stage. The Bhoys in Green have made it to the Champions League group stages in the last two seasons and whilst they failed to get out of the group on both occasions, it’s still a huge achievement for the club to make it to the groups.

The aim for Brendan Rodgers’ side will be to get their again this season, but no one said it would be easy. The bookies will be making AEK the favourites for the game after they came away from Glasgow with a 1-1 draw but football is a funny game and anything can happen on the night. The fitness of Moussa Dembele will be key to the game but even without the dynamic young Frenchman, the fans are still confident they can battle their way one step closer to the Champions League group stages.
