Celtic fans on Twitter hit out at board after Hearts defeat

Celtic suffered a disappointing result against Hearts at Tynecastle yesterday after Kyle Lafferty’s 56th-minute strike condemned the SPL champions to a 1-0 defeat.

And, while Hearts have caused Celtic problems in recent times, it is understandable if this loss alongside the club’s transfer activity this summer, has given fans some concerns in regards to where the team is currently at and going.

Celtic are by far the strongest team in the SPL and it will probably take years for the likes of Hearts, Aberdeen and rivals Rangers to catch up to them, but Champions League progression past the group stages is now specifically on the agenda for supporters.

Brendan Rodgers’ men will turn their attention to the club’s second-leg clash against AEK Athens in the third qualifying round of the Champions League this coming Tuesday. But given the lack of investment in the squad during the current transfer window — albeit there is still plenty of time before it shuts — and the result against Hearts, Celtic are in a delicate position.
