After disappointing results in the SPL against Hearts and the Champions League versus AEK Athens, Celtic are back to winning ways following their victory over Partick Thistle in the second round of the Scottish League Cup.
The SPL champions now take on FK Suduva in the first leg of their Europa League play-off round fixture, but making the group stages is unlikely to be the only thing on the minds of Celtic supporters.
With the transfer window still open until the end of the month, many are still hoping to see the arrival of some new signings, including that of a central defender.
Dedryck Boyata is currently pushing for a move away from Celtic Park and, as a result, Brendan Rodgers is keen on adding Aberdeen’s Scott McKenna to his squad, according to the Daily Mail.
Given the desire of Celtic fans to see their club do well in Europe, £1.13m-rated (via Transfermarkt) McKenna is probably quite a lacklustre name and one that is unlikely to help the club progress to that next level.
Have a look at what Celtic supporters are saying on McKenna below…
If we’ve offered £3.5m for McKenna then someone up at Celtic Park needs the sack.

Hendry to McKenna back to Hendry…. and it’s 1-0 Suduva at Celtic Park

I don't know who's the daftest. Celtic for bidding £3.5m for Scott McKenna or Aberdeen for knocking it back. He's a modern day Zander Diamond.

If Jack Hendry and Scott McKenna are Brendan Rodgers' idea of the future of Celtic's defence, then we've just found out why Liverpool sacked him. Great at motivating a team. But appalling at recruitment.

Must admit I've seen McKenna a few times and he's hardly stood out. Not getting it, REALLY not getting it Celtic.

£3.5m bid knocked back for McKenna if reports are to be believed. Sad state of affairs.
