It has been a disappointing week for Celtic supporters with their club having been knocked out of the Champions League by Greek side AEK Athens on Tuesday night.
And the club’s Champions League elimination could now have serious ramifications for the club going forward in regards to the futures of some of their key players, including Moussa Dembele.
According to French outlet L’Equipe (via Robin Bairner), Marseille are preparing a £13.5m bid for the Frenchman’s services with the Ligue 1 side confident a deal can be done.
Considering how valuable Dembele is to Celtic and the ability he possesses, £13.5m is a very low-ball bid from Marseille, which the Celtic Park hierarchy should not be entertaining.
But given the former Fulham man has only two years left to run on his contract and does not look any closer to putting pen to paper on a new deal, it is not far-fetched if a sale is sanctioned.
That being said, Marseille’s £13.5m valuation of Dembele is almost as criminal as Transfermarkt’s £6.3m valuation.
Have a look at what Celtic supporters are saying on Marseille’s rumoured interest in Dembele below…

Tuesday’s result makes this move inevitable. Dembele + Boyata = lost CL money

If Marseille make a big for Dembele then I would worry that he might want to go although the £13.5 rumored is too low but add another £5 million to that and I think Celtic might deal… Would love to keep him though as he is a CL class strikwr when fit
