Celtic will be travelling to face RB Salzburg tomorrow evening in Austria and yesterday saw them training at Parkhead ahead of their flight. The club took to Twitter to tweet a picture of the club in training and the fans all had the same question: is Filip Benkovic fit?

The Hoops strongest centre-back partnership would definitely be Dedryck Boyata and Benkovic if you were to ask any of the supporters and whilst Boyata has been on top form, the fans would like to see someone with a little bit more quality partnering him, ideally, a fully fit Benkovic when the Croatian defender returns. It looks like tonight’s game will be too soon for the 21-year-old, but the sooner he’s back in the better.
This game against RB Salzburg could be a crucial one for Brendan Rodgers’ side. The Bhoys are currently tied at the top of their group with the Austrians after they both won their opening matches and if Rodgers can mastermind a win away in Europe then Celtic will be in the driving seat in the group. Obviously, it’s easier said than done to get a win against a tough RB Salzburg side, and if they had Benkovic fit it would be easier, but the fans can still stay optimistic that they might grab a famous win.

The fans will be desperate to see Benkovic back in action sooner rather than later, even if tonight’s clash is too soon for the Croatian’s return.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
