Celtic fans want to see international stars boycott Scotland squad

Celtic took to Twitter yesterday to announce that a whopping six of their players have been picked for the upcoming Scotland squad to face Israel on the 11th October and Portugal on the 14th October. The six players in question are Craig Gordon, Jack Hendry, Kieran Tierney, James Forrest, Callum McGregor and Leigh Griffiths and you can read more on the Celtic website.

The fans are far from pleased with the news that half a dozen Hoops are in the Scotland squad. The fans aren’t happy at all with the Scottish FA and the Scottish national team with the way that their club is treated and they’d be livid if any of their players return from international duty with an injury. The fans are keen to see less of their stars playing international games and will be keen to keep their squad fit as they aim to get back to the top of the league.

This season has seen Celtic struggle so far in the Scottish Premier League. Brendan Rodgers’ side have won four of their seven games, losing one and drawing two of those. They are currently six points off of league leaders Hearts and will be desperate to undo the poor start they’ve made by getting a winning run going in the league, starting with their match against St Johnston on Sunday.

You can read the fans’ calls for their stars to drop out of the Scotland squad here:

The Hoops will be desperate to see their stars drop out of the international set up and will be keen to see them come back injury-free if they are to play for their country.
