The Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern are waiting to hear about their latest possible addition to the defence.
According to an exclusive report by The Scottish Sun, Celtic are hoping to bring in Marvin Compper as a replacement for Erik Sviatchenko.
Erik Sviatchenko is set to be offloaded in the January transfer window after falling out of favour this season.
The likes of Dedryck Boyata, Jozo Simunovic and Nir Bitton are all preferred to Sviatchenko and now he looks set for the exit door in January.
The five cap Denmark international is unlikely to be short of suitors after FC Copenhagen saw a £2.7m bid turned down in the summer, Besiktas had a loan offer rebuffed and Newcastle United have previously held an interest in him.
The 26-year-old is likely to be pursued by a number of Championship clubs, according to this report.
With Sviatchenko set for the exit door, Celtic are now waiting to hear back from Marvin Compper, who could be his replacement.
The 32-year-old is currently playing for Red Bull Leipzig in the Bundesliga but is thought to be interested in a move to Celtic.
The once-capped former German international, who has previously played for Borussia Monchengladbach, Hoffenheim and Fiorentina in his career, is said to be mulling over an offer.
Our landlord believes that Compper would be a fine addition to Celtic’s defensive ranks due to his experience.
He offers plenty of experience having played at the highest level in Germany for most of his career.
With Sviatchenko almost certain for the exit door, Compper at £1m would be good business for the Scottish Premiership leaders.
