Celtic are looking to improve their defence this summer after a couple of shaky performances and the uncertainty surrounding one of their stars.
Dedryck Boyata’s future at Parkhead appears to be in doubt, with a number of Europe’s bigger clubs thought to be interested in the Belgium international, leaving Brendan Rodgers with some concern.
His defence as a whole is also currently causing the Hoops some questions at the moment, however, it appears they have identified one man that could help to make a difference this summer.
The centre-back, who has been capped twice for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national side, has become one of the most reliable defenders in the Eredivisie with his ability to read the game.
Rated at £1.58million by Transfermarkt, the defender could be available at a cut-price as his current deal at the Dutch outfit is set to expire next summer and Groningen could be prepared to offload him before losing him on a free.
Celtic definitely need to add to their defensive backline this summer and Memisevic could be a solid addition.
It would be considered to be a risk by the Scottish Premiership champions to sign him, however, it could prove to be one that pays off for Rodgers’ side.
The Bosnian has certainly shown that he can play at a top level, and with previous interest from Galatasaray rumoured, he should be a player that the Bhoys take the risk on this summer.
