Celtic will be desperate to return to winning ways after yesterday’s defeat against bitter rivals Rangers, with the Scottish Premiership title race still in their hands.
The Hoops struggled to make anything work at the pinnacle of the attack against Rangers, so the January transfer window may hold the answers to Brendan Rodgers’ prayers. Interestingly, it looks as if the Glasgow side are closing in on a swoop, as according to the Scottish Daily Star, Celtic have tabled a £1.75 million bid for Vakoun Issouf Bayo.
It’s understood that a £1.75 million bid has been tabled for Slovakian side DAC attacker Vakoun Bayo.
Bayo has scored 18 goals in 23 appearances this season, which caught the eye of Celtic scouts.
Indeed, Rodgers has had to turn to Mikey Johnston in recent times as Leigh Griffiths is out of action due to personal reasons, with Odsonne Edouard being the only other option in attack.
Vakoun Bayo has definitely shown that he can ensure a consistent flow of goals this season, but it remains to be seen as to whether he can make the step up to the Scottish Premiership.
Nevertheless, supporters will be delighted that Rodgers is on course to secure his signature as the attacker has a lot of versatility, with the ability to play as a left winger and on the left-hand side of midfield.
