The Celtic fans who are gathered around the jukebox in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing comments made by a manager with regards to his future.
The Guardian is reporting that David Moyes is one of the club’s top targets as a replacement for Ronny Deila following his decision to leave Parkhead this summer.
Deila has been under increased pressure this season and following a defeat to Rangers in the Scottish Cup on Sunday a lot of fans believed it was time for the manager to leave.
Moyes has been out of work since being relieved of his duties as Real Sociadad manager earlier this season and although the Scottish club know they may not have the finances to bring him to Scotland this has not stopped them from considering the former Manchester United and Everton manager.
Speaking about his future to Sky Sports as a studio guest for last nights Merseyside derby, Moyes said:
“There have been a few jobs come up and I haven’t taken them; the bookies have got them wrong.”
“Let me tell you, Celtic is a brilliant football club. A great football club with unbelievable support and fanbase, one of the biggest in the world. I’m going to wait and make my decision in the summertime. There is no hurry. There are lots of jobs that would interest me and, as I said, Celtic is a great club.”
The Celtic fans in The Tavern would love to see Moyes come to the club as manager as they have always admired the style his sides play with.
