Celtic are looking at adding to their defensive options this summer and it appears that they are making movements.
The 21-year-old has been impressive for the Pittodrie outfit over the last season and has seen his stock rise rapidly in the red of the Dons.
The defender, who capped off an excellent campaign with being named the captain of the Scotland national side against Mexico in the summer, has had a number of sides make offers for him.
The likes of Hull City and Swansea City are both thought to have had bids in the past for him rejected, whilst he has also signed two five-year deals with the Dons recently.
However, Celtic are now prepared to test their Scottish Premiership rival’s resolve for their star as the transfer deadline approaches.
McKenna is a player that has a huge amount of talent and as he is still at a young age, he should go far in the game.
Celtic have a number of defensive concerns at the moment at Parkhead, with the future of Dedryck Boyata in doubt and just a general lack of options to choose from.
However, with Aberdeen’s defiance over keeping the player, it remains to be seen if he will be at the Hoops after the transfer deadline.
