Celtic without duo for Suduva clash

Celtic will be preparing for their match with Suduva in the Europa League on Thursday, however, they will be without a couple of players for the clash.

According to the club’s official website, the Bhoys will be without Odsonne Edouard and Jack Hendry for the trip to Lithuania.

Brendan Rodgers has revealed that the striker is still working his way back to fitness and is not quite ready to return, whilst the defender is set to miss out with a sore ankle.

“Edouard is still recovering,” he told the club’s official website.

“He’s working well but it’ll probably be the beginning of next week before he’s back. He’s out on the field working hard but not quite ready for the game.

“Jack Hendry played with a really sore ankle at the weekend. In fairness to him he pushed himself through the game, but he wasn’t quite right and was in a lot of pain after the game so he hasn’t trained these last few days and isn’t available.”

Celtic have had a difficult few games recently, with the Scottish Premiership champions bring knocked out of the Champions League, as well as suffering a surprise defeat to Heart of Midlothian.

The Verdict:

Celtic will be looking to ensure they do not slip up against Suduva and will want to come away with a positive result.

Odsonne could be considered to be a big miss for the game as he has already netted a number of goals in European football for the Bhoys this summer.

However, Celtic will feel that they will still have the players available to ensure that the duo are not missed too much and will be in a position to bring back a victory from Lithuania.
