Big money bid could see Celtic fans suffer transfer blow

It’s been a wonderful campaign for the Celtic fans so often celebrating in the Transfer Tavern and the superlatives used to describe it are worn out by now.

Brendan Rodgers’ side look truly unstoppable domestically and only big money bids for some of their best players could dampen the mood amongst the Bhoys in the bar it seems.

So, reports from the Scottish Sun have sparked debate amongst our resident Hoops. While they claim key defender Jozo Simunovic is of interest to other clubs, it would reportedly take big money to take him away from Parkhead.

Newcastle United are said to be keen on a move for the formidable Croatian international, who almost left Celtic Park last summer for Torino.

It’s believed the 23-year-old is valued at around £9m and that he reportedly tops Rafa Benitez’s wishlist as he prepares to whip the Toon Army into shape for life back in the Premier League.

A big money offer would apparently test the Bhoys’ resolve.

Though he’s undoubtedly a top defender, the form of both Dedryck Boyata and Erik Sviatchenko at times this season have made our local Celtic open to the idea of selling him.
