Celtic are attempting to lift their form once more as they aim to make this season a success, despite making their worst start in years.
Brendan Rodgers has quickly got to move on from a failed start to this season to allow his team to have the best chance they possibly could at repeating another treble-winning season, in what would be an unthinkable third in a row.
Celtic no doubt have the quality to do so and with a few additional players in January, their chances could still be very high. Recruiting a right-back isn’t high on the priority list right now but with the opportunity soon arising for someone to buy Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian, they should grasp that chance.
Darmian, (who is valued at £9 million on Transfermarkt) hasn’t enjoyed the best footballing years of his career at Manchester United and a move away from the club at this stage would be best for both parties, it goes without saying.
The Italian right-back’s contract is up at the end of the season and if Celtic were able to persuade him to move to the Scottish Champions, their defence would grow even stronger.
He would be a big upgrade on both Lustig and Gamboa meaning that the Hoops can be confident they would be a signing a player very worthwhile.
With just one appearance this campaign and eight in the league last time out, Darmian is much better than that and could really challenge himself by making the move to Scotland and Celtic to help lead the Hoops to a brighter future.
Would Darmian be a good addition… Let us know!
