Blow for Celtic could linger on ahead of vital Champions League games

The Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern believe the club have gone into the international break in reasonably good shape.

Indeed, the Bhoys in our bar were delighted to see Brendan Rodgers’ men smash both Rangers and Anderlecht in a week, with the Hoops’ doubleheader against Bayern Munich now looked upon by our punters clad in green and white as a wonderful opportunity.

Still, reports from the Scottish Sun have proven rather annoying. They claim the Scottish champions could be without key defender Jozo Simunovic for the trip to the Allianz Arena on October 18th, much to the frustration of our Celtic-mad drinkers.

The Bosnian isn’t expected to be out for a long time, though their visit to Bavaria could reportedly come just too soon for the 23-year-old, with his national team’s doctor confirming they had been in touch with Celtic.

“We received all the documentation on the state of the injury from Celtic”, said Bosnia team doctor Reuf Karabeg.

“From the MRI scan, you clearly see a rupture of the hamstring and a hematoma 4cm in length.”

It’s a big blow for Rodgers, who has had to deal with injuries to the likes of Scott Brown and Stuart Armstrong of late and few would doubt that the club need all the help they can get ahead of the Bayern games.
