Celtic fans here in the Tavern will expect nothing less than domestic dominance once again in the next campaign. Although, having made a rather slow start to the transfer window, they’ll need to enjoy a successful July in order to receive a welcome boost as their season progresses.
The Hoops were unstoppable in the Scottish Premiership last season and even managed to secure the Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup.
Although, with Rangers strengthening and Celtic starting the transfer window rather slowly, a successful July would definitely give Brendan Rodgers’ side an advantage heading into the new campaign.
Worryingly, a couple of players are being linked with moves away this summer, so securing their futures would definitely restore faith among supporters.
So, here’s TWO things that would send supporters into a frenzy…
Boyata finally signs a new deal
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is hopeful of extending Dedryck Boyata’s contract, but contract talks are currently on hold while he plays at the World Cup.
Although, with Lazio keeping an eye on him and plenty of other teams possibly keeping tabs, supporters would love nothing more than to see him sign a new deal at the club.
A new deal for Boyata would not only send fans into a frenzy, but it would also save the Hoops millions.
So, there’s plenty of incentives for the Hoops to tie down a player that could become a Celtic legend and a future star of the game.
Tierney pledges future
Kieran Tierney has been linked with a move away from Parkhead as Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are thought to be interested in the full-back. And, Manchester United previously scouted the defender, so it’s safe to say that he is attracting a lot of interest from the Premier League.
The Scottish international has the ability to become one of the best defenders in the whole of world football and could establish himself as a Celtic legend in the process, but this does all depend on whether he decides to pledge his future to the club this month.
Many of our local residents are anticipating one of the best months in the club’s recent history, with Kieran Tierney’s future giving fans another reason to celebrate if he decides to stay on.
