Celtic have not made a good start to the season compared to how they usually do and their usually high standards have been dropping, which is extremely disappointing for fans watching on.
Brendan Rodgers had been terrific in his two years at Celtic Park, winning a double treble which goes without saying is impressive. However this season is currently very different and Celtic are a team battling to stay in contention for the league, having lost two games already this season.
For them to get better as a team, they need to look ahead to the January transfer window and identify some players who could come in and make an instant impact, like Everton’s Kieran Dowell for example.
Dowell, who is valued at £2.7 million on Transfermarkt, is a raved about youngster who deserves a chance on a big stage, like it would be at Celtic.
The 20-year-old came to life last season when going on-loan to Nottingham Forest, where he went on to make 38 Championship appearances and returned the club nine goals and four assists from an attacking midfield role.
After selling Stuart Armstrong in the summer, an attacking midfielder of Kiernan Dowell’s quality would be a great buy for Celtic should they convince Everton to let their grip go on the youngster.
Despite how many rave about the Englishman, Dowell has had to settle for just the one cup appearance this season and for a player of his quality, that’s rather insulting.
The way things are heading for Celtic don’t look too great at the moment but a youngster joining the ranks and bringing them back on track would be well received by the Hoops fans.
