News from North of the border has reached us here at the bar in the Football Transfer Tavern that Celtic and Newcastle are preparing to battle it out over a former Manchester City winger.
According to reports in the Sunday Post, former Liverpool bosses, Rafa Benitez and Brendan Rodgers are preparing moves for Aston Villa winger, Scott Sinclair.
A limp performance against Lincoln Red Imps last week has prompted the Celtic boss to re-ignite his interest in the 27-year-old after the Hoops had a bid of £1m rejected in June.
The Toon Army however are looking to overhaul their squad, having already added Matt Ritchie and Dwight Gayle in attacking roles, Sinclair would complete a potent attacking force ready to take the Championship by storm.
Villa are reportedly holding out for a bid nearer £2m to part ways with the former Swansea City man, who scored six goals in all competitions last season.
Celtic and Newcastle fans, we want to hear from you, would Sinclair be a good addition to both your sides? Which club will the Villa man choose should you both make a move? Let us know below…
