Celtic fans will be reacting with anger in the Transfer Tavern after a comment made from a former Old Firm rival about one of their star players.
Ex-Rangers defender Craig Moore has stated that Tom Rogic could leave the Bhoys in a big-money move should he be able to improve his fitness and maintain a run of form in the side, according to a report in the Scottish Sun.
The former Ger believes the current Australia international can achieve big things in the game and believes he can have a future at a bigger club in the near future, which will cause even more concern for Celtic fans.
“Tom Rogic is a very gifted player and comes from a footballing background which was different to the preferred curriculum,” he told the Scottish Sun.
“I actually think this has made him technically a better player but his challenge is playing week in week out and completing games regularly.
“If he can do that and be a consistent performer or in the top two or three every week then Celtic will eventually sell him as the interest would be there.
“Rogic can be a player that can kick on I have no doubt and for big money. He is probably still chasing the best form though for that to happen and really get people excited.”
Rogic has reportedly rejected an offer of a new deal to extend his five-year stay at Parkhead and is looking to use the World Cup as a platform to showcase his abilities to any potential suitors. Brendan Rodgers is keen to keep the Socceroo at the club as he has become a crucial member of the first-team, provided he has been fit.
Celtic fans in the Tavern will be hoping Rogic will sign a new deal and remain at the club for a long time to come, recognising how talented and vital he is to the way the Bhoys play.
However, Moore’s comments aren’t likely to go down well at Parkhead, with many of the Bhoys in our bar seeing as pivotal to their success.
