Celtic closing in on deal for impressive African powerhouse

Such is the nature of their barnstorming season under Brendan Rodgers, the Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern have been dancing on the pool tables in delirious delight for much of the campaign.

The Hoops remain unbeaten domestically and are hopeful of landing an amazing treble, having already won the League Cup, as well as sitting 19 points clear at the top of the league.

So, transfer reports from the Daily Record have only buoyed the Bhoys at the bar even more.

They claim the Parkhead titans are closing in on a deal for Kouassi Eboue of Russian side FC Krasnodar in a £2.5m deal.

The 19-year-old Ivorian midfielder has impressed in the Europa League this season during his club’s run in that competition and could reportedly join Celtic for their upcoming warm-weather training camp in Dubai.

It’s been a remarkable rise for the teen powerhouse, who only moved to Russia earlier this year after previously plying his trade for Armenian side Shirak.

While he’s not yet made an appearance for Les Éléphants, Eboue was called into their squad recently for a World Cup qualifier against Morocco, as well as a friendly against France.
