Celtic are hoping to rediscover their successful form from last season to ensure that their below average start doesn’t continue on any longer.
Having completed an unbelievable double treble in the last two seasons, Celtic have stuttered at the start of this campaign and face a much harder challenge in completing such an achievement again.
Much of that has been because of their depleted attacking threat, having allowed Moussa Dembele to leave the club. This mini crisis can easily be solved and Celtic have the players to do so but with the added quality of a striker such as Watford’s Stefano Okaka, their season could be a lot more successful.
Okaka, (who is valued at £4.5 million on Transfermarkt) is a powerful striker that could make a real difference to Celtic’s recent fortunes, offering something completely different to everything else the Hoops have.
The Watford man has played just 25 minutes of football this season and for a player of his influence, that isn’t enough.
Ever since arriving in England from Anderlecht, Okaka hasn’t quite been a prolific goalscorer but his physique is a big hassle for defenders to try and contain, allowing his team-mates to then create chances from his work.
Okaka with his towering height is understandably good in the air but equally, he does have technical ability to bring others into the game. If he could recreate his brilliant form and goalscoring record from Belgian, Celtic could really find themselves a reliable goal outlet and for an affordable price.
Brendan Rodgers isn’t used to failing with Celtic and with the right spending in January, he won’t this season either.
