Celtic fans may be riding high on their team’s Scottish Premiership title success and potential domestic treble this season, but the Daily Mail’s report that Patrick Roberts is set to leave the club this summer is a blow.
The 20-year-old has spent the last 18 months on loan in Glasgow from Manchester City and has played a big role under Brendan Rodgers this term, but it’s understood that he will head back south of the border when the campaign ends.
And the Daily Mail claim that Celtic are eager to replace him with a ‘blue chip’ signing who may cost as much as £5m.
Indeed, the outlet suggest that Rodgers will be handed £15m to spend this summer with the aim being to get three top-class players to the club as they seek to win another league title and reach the Champions League group stage.
The Hoops may also be forced to replace Moussa Dembele, with the 20-year-old striker’s form having put him on the transfer radars of top clubs across Europe.
Celtic will win the title again next season – agree?
