Celtic fans delivered transfer line at worse possible time

It’s going to be a busy few days for the Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern.

Indeed, the Bhoys in the bar are hugely excited about a visit to Ibrox on Saturday before a trip to Anderlecht in the Champions League, so what they don’t need is any unwelcome bad news.

Which is why a comment from Alan Stubbs in the BBC Match Live Blog during their win over Dundee in the League Cup has not gone down well. Though it went a little under the radar due to its inclusion in the blog posted on Wednesday night (21:44) it does provide an interesting transfer tidbit.

Stubbsy reportedly hinted to BBC Sportsound that Hoops star Kieran Tierney was being scouted up at Dens Park, as well as attracting eyes during Celtic’s Champions League loss to Paris Saint-Germain.

Manchester United – who have previously been linked with a move for the player – are mooted as the potentially interested party, much to the annoyance of our punters clad in green and white.

Landlord’s Verdict:

As a left-back, Tierney is always likely to be in demand. Young, talented and British in an area that’s proved so important to big clubs in recent years, Celtic don’t have the best chance of holding on their academy graduate.
