Celtic: Fans gush over ex-player Stephen Crainey after post - Celtic

Celtic fans were gushing over former ace Stephen Crainey after the retired player took to Twitter to tweet on the anniversary of his debut for the Hoops.

In a message on the social media site, Crainey claimed that making his debut for the Celtic Park outfit was a ‘dream come true’ and that it was ‘one of the best days’ of his life. The ex-defender made 58 appearances for the Glasgow outfit, scoring just a single goal (via The Celtic Wiki).

One fan labelled him ‘magic’.

However, despite his limited appearances for the Scottish giants, the 38-year-old’s time with the team proved to be incredibly fruitful as he won five major trophies. He was even a part of the treble-winning side from the 2000/2001 campaign, a season in which he made five appearances.

Supporters were full of complimentary messages for the retired left-back, who came through the academy at Paradise as they took to Twitter to react. Here are a selection of tweets:
