Though there’s not been much to moan about for the Celtic fans celebrating for months on end in the Transfer Tavern, a few have disappointed looks on their faces today.
That’s because, according to HITC, the Bhoys could be about to lose a highly rated young talent to the Premier League. According to their report, newly-promoted Brighton and Hove Albion have agreed a deal to bring Josh Kerr to England.
The 19-year-old is believed to be held in high regard by the Hoops after arriving from Hamilton in 2013, starring the club’s youth teams. Able to operate at either right-back or in central defence, he penned professional terms in 2014, though is yet to break into the first-team.
As a result, it seems the Seagulls have been able to persuade him to move to the opposite end of Britain. It’s thought Kerr will link up with the club’s U23 squad before moving up to Chris Hughton’s senior squad and our resident Celtic fans are gutted to see a promising young Scot depart.
