Celtic lead chase as Rodgers looks to seal deal after reported visit

The Celtic fans propping up the bar here in the Transfer Tavern believe just a few more astute additions this summer could see the club prolong their European adventure.

Indeed, the next order of business for Brendan Rodgers at Parkhead is to make the Hoops more competitive in the continent’s elite competition. So, with that in mind, reports from the Daily Mail have gone down rather well.

They claim the SPFL champions are tracking Paris Saint-Germain’s young striker Odsonne Edouard, who reportedly impressed Rodgers during his loan stint with Toulouse last term

Rodgers is believed to have been in the French capital last week and the 19-year-old forward is said to be one of the main reasons as to why.

Celtic are understood to be leading the chase when it comes to landing the player on a one-year loan, much to the delight of the Bhoys in our bar. With both Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths struggling with injuries, they hope a new forward could improve Rodgers’ ranks.

Landlord’s Verdicts:

Having seen just what a success Dembele was last season, perhaps Edouard could help replace him should a big money offer come in.

Competition for places can never be a bad thing and Rodgers’ track-record in the market while in charge of Celtic should see him backed.
