The Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern are buzzing for their trip to Germany next week as they look to put the disappointment of the Scottish national team behind them.
Indeed, the Bhoys in the bar were gutted to see the Tartan Army once again fail to qualify for a major tournament and it seems the view was shared by one of Parkhead’s most favourite sons.
In fact, it’s not only disappointment, Scott Brown is reportedly angry.
According to the Daily Record, the Hoops and Scotland skipper HIT OUT at the SFA after Gordan Strachan’s contract with the national side wasn’t renewed. Having returned to national duty last year, the 32-year-old is believed to have been on the verge of committing himself to another campaign with the Tartan Army.
However, following Strachan’s exit, the former Hibs lynchpin’s future with Scotland is said to be ‘hanging in the balance’ as those behind the scenes at Hampden Park look to enter a new era.
”It’s fair to say that all the players are absolutely shocked by this decision. I know I am”, Brown is quoted as saying.
“We were making great progress under Gordon and the players thoroughly enjoyed working with him.
“It wasn’t just myself who was looking forward to working under him again in the next campaign. We all were because we felt we were moving in the right direction – as the results in 2017 have shown.”
It seems like quite a mess for Scotland right now, whether Strachan had to go. Both Broony and Leigh Griffiths has expressed their support for ‘WGS’ and if the Tartan Army lose Brown, the new man will already be fighting a losing battle.
