Celtic fans here at the Transfer Tavern are demanding a round of celebratory ale on the house amid news their club should be in line for an ‘incredible deal’ if Moussa Dembele leaves for Real Madrid this summer.
No doubt, our Bhoys patrons will be disappointed to see the Frenchman depart after just twelve months at Parkhead – he’s scored 27 goals since signing from Fulham last summer, including back-to-back hat-tricks in February and five goals in three outings against Old Firm rivals Rangers.
But Mirror Football claim Real Madrid have now joined the race for the 20-year-old’s signature, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and even Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich all reportedly keen on Dembele, who is described as ‘the hottest prospect in Europe’.
It’s further added that there will be a bidding war this summer, which should see Celtic pick up an ‘incredible deal‘ for the striker who cost them only £300k in compensation at the start of the season if Real Madrid can lure him to Spain.
Chelsea were interested in signing Dembele during the last transfer window but were fended off by Celtic’s £40million price-tag. It’s unknown whether the Scottish champions in waiting will maintain that valuation for the summer – but our Celtic punters reckon they should!
