Celtic reportedly open to record-breaking deal, may not please fans

There’s really not been a lot to worry about for the Celtic fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern this season.

The Bhoys in the bar have watched on in delight as Brendan Rodgers and his side look to sweep all before them in domestic competition, spearheaded by the excellent Moussa Dembele.

Signed on a free from Fulham last summer, the powerful French striker has notched 24 times this season and endeared himself to the Parkhead faithful with a stunning hat-trick over bitter rivals Rangers in September.

So, it’s fair to say he’s a pretty popular figure to those supporting the green and white cause. Well, then imagine just how badly reports from the Scottish Sun have gone down today.

They claim the SPFL giants are open to the idea of selling the French U21 star this summer in a potential £20m deal, with both Manchester United and Chelsea reportedly keen.

The Red Devils are said to be looking to overhaul their striking options following a long-term injury to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, though the Blues are understood to be the favourites to land him.

Should he go for the reported £20m, Dembele would be the biggest sale Celtic have ever seen, though our drinkers are desperately hoping he sticks around for a few more years.
