The Celtic fans in and around the transfer tavern are hoping that next season can bring similar success and more as they target progression in the European competitions.
The Hoops have again strolled towards winning the Scottish Premier League in what seems all too easy nowadays. However, Brendan Rodgers and his side want to elevate themselves to the next level and that is only possible with the addition of top players like Karl Toko Ekambi, for example.
Valued at £10.8 million on Transfermarkt, Ekambi has lit up Ligue 1 with a tremendous 17 goals in a rather poor Angers team, competing closely with the likes of Neymar, Nabil Fekir and more top players in terms of the amount of goals.
The 25-year-old was relatively unknown up until the start of this season but his eye-catching performances should interest a team like Celtic greatly. The Hoops continue to enjoy success domestically but as soon as they go into competitions such as the Champions League and Europa League, they get blown out the water.
Ekambi’s goals in addition to the firepower Celtic already have and the team could be looking a lot stronger straight away. The striker was recently rewarded with the best African player in Ligue 1, proving that his performances have really been top draw, which could warrant interest from bigger clubs this summer.
At 25, Ekambi is reaching the pinnacle point in his career which Celtic could majorly benefit from. He is big and physical, has a good turn of pace and best of all has a terrific eye for goal which all add up to create a striker the Hoops simply need to have if they want to continue their dominance in the league and improve their fortunes in Europe.
