The Celtic fans in and around the Transfer Tavern are expecting another busy summer in terms of signings and the team preparing for an early start in the Champions League qualification rounds.
After completing the double treble, Brendan Rodgers and his team will be striving for more next season in terms of European success but with the loss of Stuart Armstrong, that could prove a lot harder to accomplish. Having sold the 26-year-old to Southampton, our punters believe that Celtic should ask the Saints for Harrison Reed in return, a midfielder valued at £900k on Transfermarkt.
Having been playing his football out on-loan with Norwich, Reed impressed, so much so that our punters believe he would be a good option for the Scottish champions. Harrison Reed playing in 39 Championship games, scoring once and creating 4 assists for his team-mates to dispatch into the net. The 23-year-old is very hard working and never gives the opposition a moments rest on the ball, constantly wanting to get his side back in possession and moving forward.
Southampton has been the destination for a number of Celtic players in the past few seasons, so why can’t that happen the other way around this window as well? Reed has similar traits to current captain Scott Brown in the middle of the park, a role-model he could look up to and learn from. Reed could understand the importance of Celtic to their fans and could potentially be a fans’ favourite in seasons to come.
