Celtic have struggled massively compared to normal this season, having made their worst start in 20 years, with Brendan Rodgers at the helm for his third season in charge.
After an early Champions League exit, failing to even make the group stage, their league form neither shows any hope for Celtic fans this season, something they have to amend and fast.
Brendan Rodgers is a serial winner in Scotland during his reign of Celtic, having won the double treble in the last two seasons. That can again be the case this season but serious improvements need to be made should they wish for that to happen once again.
Selling Moussa Dembele was a good business decision but now leaves them with few attacking options which is why January should be time to recruit a striker and someone like free agent Lacina Traore.
Traore, (who is valued at £2.2 million on Transfermarkt) has been a goalscorer in pretty much every country he’s been in and Celtic should look at that, considering him as a good option and one that offers variety to their attacking play.
In 81 appearances during his time in Russia, he scored 36 goals and laid on a further ten assists, making him a handy forward. The 6″8 giant obviously isn’t your average striker and with great height comes great aerial power, something he has used several times throughout his career.
Yet to cement a place with a team is something that Lacina Traore will now want to do and improve upon as with Celtic in nothing short of a crisis, the Ivorian could be a different option they explore.
Could Traore be a good signing for Celtic… Let us know!
