Double injury boost for Celtic fans as Champions League dreams grow and grow

A win over Dundee put the Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern in a good mood over the course of the weekend, ahead of the club’s huge Champions League clash with Bayern Munich in just a few days.

Indeed, with Brendan Rodgers’ men having won 0-3 away at Anderlecht last time out, the Bhoys in the bar are confident their beloved Hoops can go to the Allianz Arena and get a result.

In fact, even more so, following reports from the Scottish Sun.

According to their report, Javi Martinez is due to miss Celtic’s visit on Wednesday after picking up a shoulder injury over the course of the weekend, a boost for the travelling Scots. Able to operate in either defence or midfield, the Spaniard will be a huge loss to the German champions.

“Javi will miss the game against Celtic. It is a concern”, said Jupp Heynckes as quoted in the Sun.

“He’s a tough boy and never usually asks to come off.”

Furthermore, the report also claims Arturo Vidal is a doubt for midweek, much to the delight of the punters clad in green and white.

Landlord’s Verdict:

While there is so much quality on offer in Bavaria, potentially losing Martinez and Vidal is a huge blow for Bayern, who aren’t exactly in the best of shape right now.

It’s hard to see there being a better chance of beating Bayern in their own backyard for the Bhoys.
