Celtic will be looking to make it two wins out of two in the Europa League group stages when they take on Red Bull Salzburg at the Red Bull Arena on Thursday.
And the Bhoys have been given a huge fitness boost going into the game with Odsonne Edouard expected to be fit after sustaining a dead leg last weekend.
The centre-forward was on the receiving end of a dangerous scissor-kick challenge from Scott McKenna in Celtic’s 1-0 win over Aberdeen but has recovered in time for the trip to Austria, according to Sky Sports.
Edouard has yet to rediscover the form he showed at Celtic last season, but a player of his ability will be needed if Brendan Rodgers’ men are to get anything from their clash with Salzburg.
RB Leipzig boss Ralf Rangnick, who saw his side lose 3-2 at home to Salzburg last month, believes the Austrian side are one of the best teams in Europe and has warned Celtic a difficult task awaits them.
“For me, Salzburg are one of the best teams in Europe at the moment and anyone playing them face a difficult task,” Rangnick was quoted saying on Sky Sports.
“They beat some really good other teams on the way to the Europa League semi-finals [last season].”
Should Edouard be fit for the game, though, and manage to play to his full capability, then Celtic have every chance of taking all three points back to Glasgow and making a giant step towards qualification for the knockout round of the competition.
