‘He will be gone in the summer’ – Fans react as Celtic boss talks about future

The Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments made by Brendan Rodgers about his current job at Parkhead. The former Liverpool man described his current role as Celtic manager as his dream job despite being flattered by links to the Arsenal job when Arsene Wenger eventually steps down. Rodgers made the comments whilst speaking in an interview with the Daily Mail.

Brendan Rodgers has enjoyed life at Celtic so far. The Northern Irishman won the domestic treble in his first season in Glasgow and has gone from strength to strength since joining the Bhoys in Green. Rodgers’s Celtic contract is set to expire in 2021 but the 45-year-old seems happy in Scotland, having won four trophies in less than two years with the Scottish giants.

Celtic look set to continue in their strong vein of form as they canter towards another Scottish Premier League title and also face Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi-final next month. Rodgers will be aiming for back to back trebles with Celtic for the first time in the club’s history. If the Glaswegian side does go on and claim the two remaining pieces of domestic silverware it’ll just be another record broken by Rodgers, at the back end of last year Celtic were finally beaten to end a run of 69 domestic matches without a loss, breaking a long-standing club record.
