Investing in a young talent like Riedewald would be a good idea for Celtic

Celtic are starting to crumble as the immense pressure continues to pile on boss Brendan Rodgers after a dismal start for their standards.

The Hoops lost in the league yet again last weekend and compared to their usual high standards, the team just aren’t performing and are becoming in danger of losing their chances at another treble-winning season, having done that for the last two successive campaigns.

A lot needs to happen in January but starting off with signing a versatile player who can play in defence and midfield like Crystal Palace’ Jairo Riedewald is a great idea.

Riedewald, (who is valued at £4.5 million on Transfermarkt) has managed just one appearance for the Eagles this season, albeit he impressed when providing the assist for the winning goal. Still though, the Dutchman has failed to really make an impact at Selhurst Park due to the limited game-time he has had.

What can’t be forgotten though is how well he played when at Ajax and that was the real Jairo Riedewald, who Celtic would be lucky to have around their club.

With all that’s happened with centre-back Dedryck Boyata over the last few months when refusing to play and most recently making the mistake to cost Celtic the game, Riedewald is a centre-back who could instantly improve Celtic. Indeed, that is an idea that must come to fruition.

Having previously earned three caps with the Dutch squad, people must realise the true potential of Jairo Rieldewald and that could be presented should the 22-year-old be given a chance to move to a club like Celtic.
