Celtic fans here in the Tavern are delighted with how their season panned out, as they managed to secure the treble and a place in the Champions League next season.
Brendan Rodgers has established himself as one of the most impressive managers in the whole of world football, with many of our local residents expecting even more success next season.
Although, the summer transfer window will be of huge importance as the Hoops never really managed to assert their dominance this season, with a Champions League group stage exit and an aggregate loss to Zenit Saint Petersburg in the Europa League.
Therefore, the club’s chief executive Peter Lawwell will have a huge say on the club’s transfer movement over the course of the summer, with a central defender desperately needed after conceding a number of silly goals both in Europe and domestically.
So without further ado, Lawwell has been left with no choice than to try and lure this star to Celtic…
The 27-year-old is an old style central defender who has a bit of flair to his game. He established himself as one of the best central defenders in the Championship this season, and he will be jetting off to the World Cup this summer with Sweden.
Pontus Jansson, who is currently valued at £5.4 million (by Transfermarkt), would be a quality acquisition for the Hoops as he has already shown that he can handle pressurised situations in the Championship and on the international stage.
So, the next step in his career would be European football, with Celtic needing some defensive reinforcements to help keep some of England’s best at bay in the Champions League next season.
