Manager holds talks with 26-year-old ahead of proposed Celtic move

With the title wrapped up yesterday, the celebrations are still going off amongst the Celtic fans dancing on the pool tables here in the Transfer Tavern.

Indeed, there’s just one more hurdle to try and overcome this season as the Bhoys in the bar prepare for the Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen next week. As you can well imagine, the Hoops here are really rather confident.

So, reports from the Evening Express suggesting the two clubs could be involved in more business than merely the Hampden Park clash have proven rather interesting.

They claim Dons boss Derek McInnes has reportedly held talks with Parkhead star Gary Mackay-Steven over a potential move to Pittodrie this summer.

The 26-year-old has seen his progress stall at Celtic Park since the arrival of Brendan Rodgers, starting just 11 games all season and may well be on his way out of Glasgow.

Unlike fellow former Dundee United man Stuart Armstrong, GMS has failed to wholly convince the Bhoys in the bar and they’d be up for seeing him leave the club this summer in order to free up squad space.
