Celtic have been a mixed bag so far this season as they often follow up a positive result with a negative one under Brendan Rodgers.
The Hoops would have had their sights set on securing a third successive treble prior to the start of the current campaign, but they just haven’t been able to ensure consistency just yet.
Indeed, it’s vital that Celtic can find some consistency in what could prove to be a season-defining month, with the opportunity to close the gap on league leaders Hearts.
Although, with plenty of games still yet to come and a number of negative factors possibly coming into play, the Scottish club could find themselves slipping down the table.
Therefore, here’s TWO things that could force Celtic to take a step backwards…
SLIP FURTHER AWAY FROM HEARTS
Celtic are in unknown territory at this moment in times after all the success in recent years, with a place at the top of the Scottish Premiership no longer guaranteed. Indeed, Hearts of Midlothian currently sit at the top of the table after an inspired start to proceedings, with a victory against Celtic on the second matchday.
Worryingly, Celtic run the risk of slipping even further away from the league leaders if they fail to improve on things from here on in, with their treble hopes surely fading away.
CONSISTENCY CONTINUES TO HAUNT RODGERS
Brendan Rodgers hasn’t been able to ensure the consistency that supporters have been accustom to in seasons gone by as the Hoops continue to struggle domestically.
Indeed, the Glasgow side could find themselves dropping out of Europe and losing ground in the race for silverware in Scotland if things don’t improve drastically, due to the amount of points they’ve dropped so far.
The damage has already been done in the current campaign, with consistency being the main downfall.
