Celtic

Perfect weekend: Celtic

Perfect weekend: Celtic
Celtic haven’t been able to ensure consistency in the current campaign as they find themselves in an unfamiliar position in the Scottish Premiership table.

Indeed, the Hoops have been a huge disappointment so far this season as they seem to be taking a step backwards under Brendan Rodgers at this moment in time.

Although, the Glasgow side will be looking to extend their domestic run when they take on a struggling St. Johnstone side at McDiarmid Park. It’s important that Celtic continue to grind out positive results to put pressure on the teams above them, with a third successive treble still in their sights.

Of course, picking up maximum points and title rivals slipping up would be the ideal situation.

With that in mind, here is the perfect weekend for the Hoops…

HEARTS SLIP UP

Hearts of Midlothian have been the standout performers in the Scottish Premiership this season as they currently find themselves at the top of the table, with their unbeaten record still intact.

However, the league leaders face Celtic’s bitter rivals Rangers this weekend in what will be a massive fixture in the race for the title. Surprisingly, seeing a Rangers win this weekend may not be the end of the world for supporters, with a negative result for Hearts opening the door for the Hoops to close the gap.

ODSONNE EDOUARD FINDS HIS FEET

Odsonne Edouard joined Celtic on a four-year deal during the summer transfer window following a successful loan spell in the last campaign.
But, it’s safe to say he hasn’t been able to produce a consistent flow of goals, which has forced Brendan Rodgers to replace him with Leigh Griffiths at times.  The Scottish international has been in sublime form recently and will continue to lead the line for the Hoops, but seeing the Frenchman find his feet this weekend would offer great hope in their pursuit of the title, with two in-form strikers at the club.
