Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping the club can keep ahold of a number of their stars this summer as the transfer rumours continue to speculate.
The Bhoys will want to strengthen their side this summer as they have witnessed Old Firm rivals Rangers be busy in their quest to add a number of recruits. However, manager Brendan Rodgers will know he will need to keep most of his players to have any chance of continuing to dominate Scottish football.
One man that has become of interest in recent months is Kieran Tierney, with a number of sides preparing to scout the player during their Scottish Cup Final this Saturday. The defender has impressed the likes of Manchester United and Atletico Madrid, yet he may have ended any hopes those sides would have had of signing him with recent comments (as per The Scottish Herald).
He said: ‘I’ve never even been on trial with another team. I was at my local boys’ club then moved to Celtic at seven.
‘Can I see myself being here all my career? Yes, I can. But, you never know in football. I’ve never thought about being away from Celtic. Maybe one day it will happen.’
And these comments are likely to reassure our resident Bhoys supporters, with it plausible and perhaps likely that Tierney will indeed stay at the club beyond the summer.
Landlord’s Verdict: The Celtic fans will be delighted with the reassuring comments made from the 20-year-old, and will hope he can see out his five-year extension that he only recently signed.
The Scotland international has become one of the hottest-rated prospects in recent years, and the Bhoys will be fighting tooth-and-nail to keep him at Celtic Park this summer.
