With the Celtic fans here in the Transfer Tavern looking forward to getting back to club football after the international break, it’s a big few weeks for our punters, with some important games coming up both home and abroad.
Brendan Rodgers’ men are battling to qualify for the Europa League after Christmas and trying to finish third in their Champions League group, as well as facing off against Motherwell in the League Cup final in the not too distant future.
So, it’s all to play for right now and the collective mood of the Bhoys in our bar has been seriously improved by comments made by former favourite Victor Wanyama to Celtic Quick News. Indeed, the Kenyan is now a major part of Tottenham Hotspur’s impressive side obviously, though has been waxing poetic about his love for the Hoops.
In fact, the outlet even asked the tough-tackling midfielder if he could see himself playing for Celtic again, years after leaving Glasgow for Southampton in 2013. Indeed, when asked if he saw himself returning to Scotland, Wanyama hinted he could indeed.
”Yes!! Why not? I’ve still got a lot of love for the club and I still follow the club, so who knows I might be back at the club in the future”, he said.
As you can imagine, that’s music to the ears of our resident Hoops.
If Celtic could lure Wanyama back to Scotland, it really would be quite the coup. Perhaps that’s an unrealistic notion right now, considering the relative plight of the Scottish game, though even in a few years, it could be a very big move for the Hoops.
