There’s a feeling amongst the Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern that Brendan Rodgers’ side are yet to click into gear, especially after their pretty narrow win over Partick Thistle on Friday night.
While the Bhoys in the bar are still expecting a wonderful campaign under his watch, they’re hoping their beloved Hoops pick up some of the momentum that defined their unbeaten season last time out.
Indeed, key to that is Scotland international Stuart Armstrong. The Scotland international was fantastic last year, though is entering the final year of his deal in Glasgow and has been linked with a move away from the club.
Rodgers is understood to be confident in keeping the 25-year-old beyond the course of his contract, though our locals clad in green and white just hope a deal can be agreed as soon as possible.
Armstrong’s relative dip in form could be allayed by the signing of a new deal and the sorting out of his future. When he’s on point, the Scotland star is a player who can seriously improve their Champions League chances, so sorting it all out is hugely important.
